Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of dual roles and workload on work-family conflict, with job stress serving as a mediating variable among female employees at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 120 female employees who met the predetermined criteria, including being married, having children under 20 years old, and having a husband who was actively employed. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate the measurement and structural models and to test the direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results indicate that dual roles have a positive and significant effect on work-family conflict (β = 0.613, p < 0.001) and job stress (β = 0.438, p < 0.001). Workload also has a positive and significant effect on work-family conflict (β = 0.178, p = 0.009) and job stress (β = 0.383, p = 0.005). These findings highlight the importance of managing workload and job stress while considering the multiple roles performed by female employees to reduce work-family conflict.
