Abstract

This study developed a weighted evaluation framework for sports-participation risks among physical education students in Changchun. A sequential mixed-methods design combined a descriptive questionnaire completed by 30 students enrolled in physical education-related programs with expert interviews, two Delphi rounds, and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) involving 12 experts. Student results identified inadequate warm-up, academic stress, extreme weather, equipment and surface conditions, and gaps in screening and medical support as salient concerns. The final expert-validated framework comprised 32 indicators across five domains. Human factors received the highest criterion weight (0.4251), followed by environmental (0.2532), management and organizational (0.1505), sports activity (0.0993), and social and psychological factors (0.0719). All AHP judgment matrices met CR < 0.10. The combined student and expert evidence provides a structured basis for risk screening, safety education, facility management, emergency preparedness, and priority-based resource allocation.
